Gladys Anderson, 78, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
She was born to Elven and Margaret Howell on July 17, 1931, in White Clay. She attended grade school at the Bega Country School. Their family moved to Omaha where Gladys attended North High School.
Gladys married Richard Anderson in May 1951. They began their married life in Fort Calhoun and lived there several years. They continued to raise their family in the Yutan and Leshara area.
Survivors include: her children, Richard J. Jr. (and wife, Shelly)Anderson of Colon; Kristie Cattano of Omaha; David (and wife, Marvel) Anderson of Clarksville, Ark.; Jane Peterson of Leshara; Susanne (and husband, Rich) Nelson of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother and sisters; Wally (and wife, Shirley) Howell, Emily Lanham, Virgie (and husband, Dick) Winkelman, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Anderson Sr., parents, Elven and Margaret Howell, brothers Lyle and Chester Thomas, sisters Garnet (and husband, Leland) Son and Marnie Schnieder.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Yutan. Visitation will be 2 – 6 p.m. Sunday with family being present 4 – 6 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Leshara.
