H.P. HAYS DIED THURSDAY EVENING
Henry Preston Hays, a long-time Blair resident, passed away at the Blair Hospital last Thursday evening after declining health resulting from old age.
Born in Green County, Kentucky, on April 8, 1855, the decease would have been 88 years of age in April. For many years he had resided at Ninth and South Streets where he led a quiet life among a cluster of friends and neighbors. No living relatives survive in this immediate vicinity. The body, in charge of service, was taken to Hamburg, Iowa, for burial.
