Bilby, John Lawrence Age 75 Of Longmont, CO. Died May 12, 2016 at his home. John was born August 12, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska to Juanita (Seacat) and John Lawrence Bilby, Sr. He was a graduate of Westside High School and attended the University of Nebraska and Dana College. On January 18, 1963 he married Karla McKee in Omaha. John was the owner of Bilby Construction Company, Twin City Masonry and the Natural Stone Center. He was a founding member of World Group Realty, a commercial real estate company. After moving to Colorado in 1999 John entered the commercial furniture business. John enjoyed the sport of horse racing, owning his own race horses at one point. He also enjoyed playing golf, sailing and a good game of tennis. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, the Jesters, York and Scottish Rite and the Knights Templar. John was also active with the Old English Sheepdog Rescue. Survivors include his wife Karla Bilby of Longmont; his son John Lawrence Bilby, III "Broc" of Wilmington, NC; and his daughter Nicole Bilby of Golden, CO. He is further survived by his grandson Kohlson Caughman of Golden; his sister-in-law Susan Zinga of Longmont; and his niece Alex Zinga of Australia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joy Pieper. Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services. No local services will be held.
