Grandfather Hass, who was buried in the Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska cemetery, Feb. 3, 1907, was one of those quiet good-natured Germans who while he did not seek friends yet found them in plenty on account of his smile and good nature past the allotted three score and ten. He was pretty hale up to the very hour of his sudden death from old age or paralysis at the home of his son, William. He was born in Germany in 1826. We could not attend the funeral. Granddad Woods.
