James W. "Bill" Lydick, age 70, of Tekamah, passed away on Saturday morning, December 27, 1986 at an Omaha, Nebraska hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born on September 2, 1916 to Walter B. and Martha Jane (Light) Lydick and farmed near Tekamah nearly all his life, until retiring and moving into town in 1963.

He was married to Bernice Elizabeth Palmer on June 27, 1938 at Tekamah. Mrs. Lydick passed away on April 3, 1976. Mr. Lydick was a past member of the Tekamah Lions Club and became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah on April 4, 1955.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Anderson and one son, James Walter Lydick, both of Tekamah; six grandsons and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Isaiah Lydick of Golden, Colorado; four sisters: Lola Larson and Joy Prouty, both of Omaha, Iona Daly of Denver, Colorado, and Ruth Newman of Eugene, Oregon; his close friend, Kathy Mitchell of Tekamah.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 1986 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah with Rev. Lawrence Woodcock officiating. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery. The Hamel and Peck Funeral Home of Tekamah is in charge of all arrangements.
