Wesley R. Long, 70

Wesley “Wes” R. Long 70, of Blair passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at Crowell Home in Blair, Nebraska. No services will be held.

Wes was born on February 13, 1946, in Blair to Rolland and Evelyn (Hansen) Long. He was raised in Blair and attended Blair schools. On August 20, 1966, Wes married Mary Rasmussen and at that time started farming with his father. He farmed until his illness in 2014. Wes also worked for Great Plains for 29 years in cleaning and maintenance. Through the years Wes enjoyed fishing trips to Battle Lake, Minnesota with his family.

Wes is survived by his wife, Mary; Sons, Roger (Rita) Long of Baton Rouge, LA, Richard Long (special friend Tami Hill) of Kissimmee, FL; mother, Evelyn Long of Blair; granddaughter, Ashley (Derrik) Cunard of Missouri Valley, IA; brother, Marvin (Linda) Long of Milford, NE; sister, Kaylene Gray of Gretna, NE; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Finn and Valorie Jensen of Blair, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Bruce A. Rasmussen.
