GEO. HECKER DIED IN NORTH DAKOTA

FORMER HERMANITE DIES AT BISMARK, N.D. AT AGE OF 71

George Hecker, 71, former Herman resident, brother of Mrs. Christine Hugleman, passed away at his home in Bismark, North Dakota, Tuesday evening, December 11.

He was born at Bellevue, Illinois and in early youth came to Herman, residing here several years. About thirty-five years ago he moved to North Dakota, settling at Bismark.

The body is being brought to Herman and interment will be made at the Herman Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Saturday.

GEO. HECKER LAID TO REST SATURDAY

Funeral services for George Hecker, 71, who passed away at Bismark, North Dakota, December 11, were held Saturday at 1:30 o’clock at the Baptist Church. Assisted by Rev. C. C. Norlin, Rev. John Poucher of Omaha conducted the burial services.

Music was furnished by a quartette consisting of Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Mrs. Geo. Lowe, C. R. Gray and Fred Roberson, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Ivan Helms.

Pallbearers were James Van Horn, Lennie Ackerman, Ben Wachter, Herman Hovendick, Ernest Heise and Hult Lowe, and interment was made at the Herman Cemetery.

George Hecker was born at Belleville, Illinois, August, 26, 1863. His age at the time of his death was 71 years, 3 months, and 15 days.

He came to Nebraska when a boy, and moved in 1892 to Thurston County, Nebraska. In 1904 he moved to Wilton, North Dakota, where he resided until his death.

His wife preceded him in death in 1916.

He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Mrs. Christine Hugleman; two half sisters, Mrs. Amanda Huber of Bennington, Neb. and Mrs. Bertha Kessler of Freeburg, Illinois, besides a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Among friends and relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Heise and son Ernest; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson of Bancroft; Mrs. Ella Wood of Tekamah; Mr. and Mrs. Wm Hugleman and family of Wakefield, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. George Huber and family of Irvington, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Art Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gwyn, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Petersen and Al Petersen all of Millard, Nebr.; Frank Huber of Irvington; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lundt of Fr. Calhoun; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gottsch of Kennard; Mrs. Josephine Hugleman and Elaine of Bismark, North Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Novak and Joseph Novak of Kennard.
