Services for Gertrude Lena Heise, 85, who died December 6, 1994 at her home were Saturday, December 10 at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church in Fort Calhoun. Burial was at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
A memorial service was held December 8 by Naomi Chapter No. 121 of the Order of the Eastern Star at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home.
Gertrude Lena Heise was born December 27, 1908 to Jacob and Clara Sierk. She was raised on the family farm near Fort Calhoun.
On March 22, 1930, she married Fred J. Heise and they made their home on the Heise family farm near Omaha. They moved to Blair in 1967 when they retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; sisters, Helen Kruse, Alma Larson and Marie Nielsen and a brother, who died in infancy.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Norma Heise; a daughter and son-in-law, Claire Ann and Erwin Sprick; grandchildren, Tom Sprick, Jim Sprick, Brenda Heise and Bill Heise; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
