EX-COUNTIAN DEAD AT 73

MRS. HERMAN HEISE OF BANCROFT, BORN HERE IN 1873, DIED MARCH 10

Mrs. Herman Heise, 73, long-time resident of Bancroft but a native Blairite and Washington Countian, died Mar. 19 at St. Joseph Hospital, Sioux City, from the effects of a fall at her home. She was an aunt of County Attorney Walter G. Huber of Blair.

Services were held at Bancroft Mar. 23. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Walter G. Huber, Blair; Miss Emma Huber and Ernest Huber, Irvington; Mrs. William Tietgen and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Newhouse and Mrs. Lena Pinkney, all of Bennington; Mr. and Mrs. Art Schneider, Fort Calhoun; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huber and family and Mrs. Henry Heise, Benson; Mr. and Mrs. William Heise and son, Mrs. and Mrs. John Allen and Mrs. Ernest Peterson, all of Florence; and other relatives and friends from outstate.

As Matilda Huber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Huber, Mrs. Heise was born here Feb. 13, 1873. She attended the Washington county schools and lived in Blair until her marriage to Mr. Heise Nov. 19, 1891. The couple were parents of seven children, two of whom preceded the mother in death.

Surviving Mrs. Heise besides her husband, four sons and a daughter are one brother, Ernest Huber of Arlington, and one sister, Miss Emma Huber of Hastings. There are 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
