Former Arlington resident Arlene E. Helget, 77, of Fremont, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Rick Kanoy of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 13, at Moser Memorial Chapel, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Arlene E. Helget was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Wabasso, Minn., to Paul and Alma (Loock) Thiel. She grew up in Minnesota.

On March 4, 1946, she married Michael O. Helget at Redwood Falls, Minn. The family moved to Fremont in 1954. Mrs. Helget moved to Arlington in 1984, and returned to Fremont in 2004.

She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim Helget of Lakeland, Fla., Jerry Helget of Morse Bluff, and Jeff and Julie Helget of Fremont; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Gordon Stork of Arlington, Jan and Walter Gall of Omaha and Bev and Paul Ringleman of Sidney; two brothers and sister-in-law, Norman and Arlene Thiel of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Alfred Thiel of St. James, Minn.; brother-in-law, Lyle Bloedow of Springfield, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Lavon Thiel and Darlene Thiel, both of Redwood Falls; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, in November 1984; a sister, Hermine Bloedow; and brothers, Carl, Ervin, Clarence, and her twin brother, Arnold.

Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Odyssey Hospice in Omaha.
