HARRY HELMSING DIED IN KANSAS MONDAY, APRIL 7

Harry Helmsing, Sr. 77-year-old Washington County native, died Monday, April 7th at Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He was 77 years of age, having been born at Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska, November 19, 1897.

For many years he had lived at Kennard and that place was his home at the time of his death. His wife has preceded him in death.

He is survived by four sons. They are Harry Helmsing, Jr., of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Leo Helmsing of O'Fallon, Missouri, Jack Helmsing, of Pueblo, Colorado and Howard Cook, of Kennard.

He has three sisters. They are Mrs. Gertrude Richards, of Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Emmett Gardiner, of Omaha and Dora Helmsing, also of Omaha.

Funeral services were held at Grace United Methodist Church at Kennard today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. April 10th. The Rev. John Fritzmeier conducted the service and burial was made in the Kennard Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Terry and Rex Helmsing, Rolland Kahnk, Clifford Staben, Gary Cook, and Howard J. Cook.
