Services for Emanuel M. (Ed) Hemmingson, 74, of Blair will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 6, 1987, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair with Father Dan Gals officiating.

Burial will be at 1 p.m., Friday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at West Point.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Campbell Funeral Home.

Ed was born in Hawarden, Iowa, on October 20, 1913, to Edward and Bertha (Peterson) Hemmingson.

He attended school in Hawarden, and served in the Navy during World War II.

Ed married Marie Vonderheide on June 16, 1936, at West Point.

They moved to Omaha in 1941, and he worked as a projectionist and manager of the Berkley Theater.

He became a member of IBEW Local 22 of Omaha in 1946. He was also a journeyman electrician until his retirement in 1976, at which time they moved to Herman. They moved to Blair in 1982.

Survivors are wife Marie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Linda Hemmingson of Omaha, and Thomas and Barbara Hemmingson of Omaha; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Jean (David) Pierce of Litchfield, Minnesota; Mrs. Carol (Bruce) Rosenbaum of Kennard, and Mrs. Ruth (Eugene) Kloewer of Omaha; 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin of Sioux City, Iowa, and Carroll of Oelwein, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by one son, Donald, one brother and one sister, and his parents.
