Jorgena S. Luschen, 95, of Fremont died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Nye Pointe in Fremont.

She was born Nov. 6, 1913, on the family farm near Kennard to Jens and Amelia (Nielsen) Hoier. She grew up on the farm and attended Mattis Country School. She married Henry Braesch in 1931 in Bennington. After farming west of Bennington for more than 10 years, Jorgena and Henry moved to Waterloo where they farmed together until Henry died in 1948. Jorgena and her three sons moved back to Bennington, where she met and married Leonard Luschen in February 1951. They lived on the Luschen family farm northeast of Bennington until they retired in 1972 and they moved to Fremont. Leonard died in 1996 and Jorgena moved into Nye Pointe in 2006.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont, Lutheran Women's Club and Lutheran Club. She served as a dedicated volunteer at the Fremont Area Medical Center for 25 years.

Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Helen Braesch of Bennington, Dick and Bessie Braesch of Windsor, Colo., and Margaret Braesch of Arlington; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Doris Hoier of Omaha.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Hadan-Golden-Reichmuth Mortuary in Bennington with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Flower Hill Cemetery.
