Hundahl Rites Held

K.P. Hundahl, 81, was Retired Publishing House Manager Here in Blair

Funeral Conducted at Lutheran Church

Ill only a short time, K.P. Hundahl, 81, a retired manager of the Lutheran Publishing House and long prominent in Blair city and church activities, died last Wednesday night at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.

Since his retirement in 1939, he had lived in both Omaha and Blair and had interested himself in helping manage the extensive farm holdings of his sons, Dave and Ernest.

Funeral services, with arrangements in charge of the Bendorf Funeral Home, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. H.C. Jersild, president of the synod, officiated, assisted by the Rev. M.G. Christensen of Pella Lutheran Church of Omaha. Interment was in Blair Cemetery.

Born in Denmark

Karl P. Hundahl was born Mar. 14, 1872, at Vejby, Vendsyssel, Denmark, son of J.J. Hundahl and Katherine Dahl. He was educated in Denmark and later in Iowa, where he immigrated as a young man in 1883 to Turin.

Mr. Hundahl and Mary Paulsen were married in Blair Aug. 10, 1894 and to them were born four children, one of whom, Raymond, preceded his parents in death.

As a young man Mr. Hundahl was a station agent and telegraph operator for several years for the C. & N.W. Railroad in northern Iowa and Sioux City divisions. He then farmed six years in Iowa and here in Washington County.

..to west Omaha, where they remained eight years. In 1950 they came back to Blair and moved into a new home they built at 507 West Front St.—a model home complete with all the latest innovation and a dwelling which they were proud to show to visitors, pointing out such features as the plug-ins for television, etc.

Mrs. Hundahl died last Sept. 23.

Surviving Mr. Hundahl are two sons, David J. Hundahl and Ernest Hundahl, both of Dallas, Tex., and one daughter, Miss Pearl Hundahl of Omaha. There are five grandchildren, Robert Hundahl of Tekamah, John and David Hundahl Jr of Dallas, Frances Willis of Longview, Tex., and Marjorie Mott of Dallas, also four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Lawrence Hundahl of Moorhead, Ia., and Martin Hundahl of Odense, Denmark; and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Petersen of Odense, Denmark.
