Delmer D. “Del” Miller, 79, of Grand Island passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016.

Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo is officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Del was born on March 16, 1937 in Blair, Nebraska to Lorens and Ida (McDonald) Miller. Del grew up in Blair. He was employed with Roberts Dairy delivering milk before having a career as a welder, starting at Kuker Industries in Omaha, later Kelley Ryan Equipment in Blair, Nebraska Engineering Company, Omaha Steel and retired from Boiler makers Union Local 83 in 1992.

Del was a member of Boiler Makers Union Local 83, Keystone Lodge in Phillips and a member of the Shriner Motor Patrol, serving as vice-president and president. Following his retirement, Del enjoyed his involvement with Shriner’s and his love and passion for gun shows. He enjoyed collecting, fixing and selling guns.

In 1958, Del married Mary Sully and in 1986 he was married to Phyllis Cook. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa and great grandpa.

Del is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Mike (Deb) Miller, Joe Miller, Rob (Kathy) Miller; daughters, Liz (Paul) Johnson, Margie Bansen, Kathleen (Toby) McLaughlin; stepchildren, Linda (Phil) Mader, Brenda (Jerry) Dunn, Pam Zeman and Brad (Azeb) Cook; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, John Miller; and sisters, Vivian Kelley and Ethel Schmidt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Miller and sister, Marian Kelley.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
