ILLNESS IS FATAL TO MRS. BYERS, 74

RESIDENT OF COUNTY HALF A CENTURY SUCCUMBS HERE SATURDAY

Mrs. A.C. Byers, 74, resident of Washington county since 1887, died Saturday at her home, 308 west Colfax street, after an illness of about two years. She had been critically ill the past several weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Byers came to Washington county in 1887 from Springfield, Illinois, and lived on farm southwest of Kennard until 12 years ago, when they moved to Blair.

Surviving Mrs. Byers besides her husband are four children, Mrs. L.O. McHenry and Mrs. R.O. Smith of Los Angeles, Mrs. Chelsea Whitford of Blair and Frank Byers of Kennard. There are six surviving grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Bendorf Funeral Home, with the Rev. James H. Roman, pastor of First Congregational church, officiating. Burial was in Blair cemetery.

Mrs. A.C. Byers passed away at her home on West Colfax street Saturday, September 17. Surviving relatives besides her husband are four children, Mrs. L.O. McHenry and Mrs. R.O. Smith of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Chelsea Whitford of Blair and one son, Frank Byers of Kennard, also six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home Monday, September 19 with Rev. James H. Roman of the First Congregational church officiating. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Byers came to Nebraska from Springfield, Illinois, in 1887 and lived on a farm south and west of Kennard until 12 years ago when they moved to Blair.

Mrs. Byers was 74 years of age.
