Note: The B & C Shop was a popular women’s clothing store in Blair, Nebraska. On annual Sidewalk Sales, the owners converted the main store into one large changing area for women, screening off the shop windows, while racks of clothing were out on the sidewalk. Steady streams of women came into the store, sharing mirrors. What didn’t look good on one lady would look well on another, and sales were brisk.
