Reuben C. Lundvall, age 68, Tekamah, died on Thursday evening, March 19,1987 at an Omaha hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 1, 1919, near Craig to Jonas August and Emme Rosina (Johnson) Lundvall.

He farmed and worked throughout Burt County, having lived in the Oakland, Craig and Lyons areas for many years.

He was married to the former Eunice Carlson on August 29, 1937, at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Prior to his retirement, Reuben was employed as a Foreman with Sharlo Manufactuing in Tekamah.

A U.S.Army Veteran of World War 2, he served his country in what is now the state of Alaska from August of 1944 to December of 1945.

He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 5543 of Oakland and a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice, Tekamah; two sons, Donald Lundvall of Papillion and Reuben Lundvall, Jr. of California; one daughter, Rosalie Bowland of Tekamah; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Nelson of Oakland and Mrs. Ollie Olson of Craig; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Osterloh in 1980, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 1987, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland; Pastor John A. Pierson officiated.

Interment was in the Lyons Cemetery, with graveside military honors by Oakland V.F.W. Post No. 5543.
