Judith J. ‘Judy’ Wilsey, 73

Judith J. ‘Judy’ Wilsey age 73, of Fremont, died Monday, August 1, 2016, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha surrounded by her family.

Judy was born September 15, 1942, to George and Vi (Culp) Bluma in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Arlington. After high school, she attended nursing school at Lincoln General Hospital. After graduating as an RN, she met Charles Wilsey at a USO dance, and later they eloped in Denver on June 2, 1962. They moved to Lincoln where she worked as a nurse, and later moved to Columbus, where she worked in the ICU for the next 35 years.

They moved to Fremont after she retired in 2007 to be closer to two of her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching all of their sporting activities, and making quilts for the Linus Club for children in hospitals, and for anyone else who wanted a blanket. If she wasn’t at her sewing machine, you would find her at the thrift stores, garage sales, or auctions looking for her next bargain.

Judy is survived by her husband, Chuck; two sons, Mark (Deb) Wilsey of Virginia Beach, VA, Matt (Debbi) Wilsey, of Columbus; and daughter, Michele (Terry) Synovec, of Fremont; her four grandsons; her siblings: Stan (Sondra) Bluma, Steve (Ruth Ann) Bluma, Kathy (Roger) Nettleton, Jane (Gale) Breitkreutz; and many nieces and nephews.

Her service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, on Friday, August 5th at 10:30 a.m. Visitation with family will be held at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, August 4th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed to charities near and dear to her heart.
