Elizabeth “Betty” J. Wilcox, 78

Elizabeth "Betty" J. Wilcox age 78 of Kennard, Nebraska passed away August 15, 2016 at her home in Kennard. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair. Graveside Services will follow in the Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home beginning at 3PM. Family will be receiving friends from 6-8 PM with a prayer service being held at 7:00 PM.

Betty was born on May 22, 1938 in Wakefield, Nebraska, the daughter of Marvin and Ruth (Roberts) Killion. She was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1956. Betty attended summer school at Wayne State and worked at the Chevy dealership in Wayne. In October of 1956 she met the love of her life Duane "Harlo" Wilcox in Blair. On December 30, 1956 the couple were united in marriage at the Mission Covenant Church in Wakefield, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Kathrine Sue and James Dean.

Betty worked at Collins Millwork in Kennard and worked for several years at the Arlington Veterinary Clinic and then Western Engineering until her retirement. She enjoyed working with her flowers, ceramics, camping, reading, fishing and attending blue grass festivals. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, The Betty Club, and a former member of the Kennard Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Duane "Harlo" Wilcox of Kennard; daughter Kathrine Sue (Mike) Johnson of Lincoln; daughter-in-law Loretta (Kelly) Steiner of Lakeland; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special loved ones Roxanne Nielsen and family; brother Neil (Lynne) Killion of Oregon; sister Mary Killion of Texas; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by son James and an infant brother.

Memorials may be directed to the Kennard Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad or St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Blair.
