Note: He was actually buried in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, Nebraska. Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home even had a copy of his funeral leaflet that clearly stated he would be buried in Memorial, and the sexton at Memorial said he was buried there by Reckmeyer three days after he passed away.

Henry Dickmeyer Died at his Home in Arlington Early Tuesday

Funeral services for Henry Dickmeyer, 73, retired farmer who died early Tuesday morning at his home in Arlington will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 2 o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington, the Rev. Carl Hellmann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery (error: should be Memorial in Fremont, Nebraska)

Mr. Dickmeyer was born west of Blair Dec. 4, 1879, and farmed until a few years ago, when he retired and moved into Arlington.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Scheer (Esther) and Mrs. Wilber Grefe (Irma) and one son, Alfred Dickmeyer, all of Arlington, and 12 grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, John Dickmeyer of Arlington and Fred Dickmeyer of Blair, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Laaker (Minnie) of Fremont.

The Reckmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Henry Dickmeyer Rites Are Friday

Henry Dickmeyer died of a heart ailment at his home in Arlington on Tuesday morning, August 11th. He had been ill during the past month.

Henry was born December 4, 1879 to the late Mr. and Mr. Ulrich Dickmeyer at Blair. On February 24, 1903 he was married to Sophie Plugge at Arlington and to this union were born one son, Alfred and two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Scheer (Esther) and Mrs. Wilbur Grefe, (Irma) of Arlington. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Laaker of Fremont; two brothers, Fred of Blair and John of Arlington.

He spent his entire life in Washington County except for one year in Fremont and for many years farmed north of Arlington. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Carl Hellman will officiate at the funeral services Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Reckmeyer Funeral Home and at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

Six nephews, Martin, Paul and Albert Dickmeyer, Walter Hilgenkamp, Ivan Stratton and Sterling Plugge will serve as pallbearers.
