MRS. M. F. KILIAN RITES TUESDAY

Mrs. Myrtle F. Kilian, a sufferer for years, passed away October 21 at the Convalescent Home in this city. At her death she was eighty two years of age.

As Myrtle F. Patrick she came with her family to Blair about the year 1888. Here the family made their home and it was here the she met and married John N. Kilian, who before their marriage was the Catholic priest for this pastorate.

After their marriage the husband joined the army where he was given the ranking of an officer and with his command saw much service in the Pacific Islands.

After the death of the husband, Mrs. Kilian, with her family of two sons and one daughter, returned to Blair and the mother has made this her home since.

Of the children, two are living, Colonel Alphonse Kilian and Mrs. Eunice Bruse and three sisters, Mrs. Grace McKelvey of Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Blanche Sheldon of Columbus, Nebraska; and Mrs. Bess Talmage of Blair. Also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Episcopal church with Rev. Stilwell officiating, and burial under the supervision of the Bendorf Funeral Home was made in the Blair cemetery.

In her passing goes a woman of wide experience and of deep convictions of right and wrong. Her daughter, Mrs. Eunice Bruse, was her constant aid in sickness over a long term of years, she sacrificed everything for her mother and she feels deeply the loss.

The pallbearers were her old neighbors and friends: Carl Schmidt, Philip O’Hanlon, Walter Gutschow, Neil Sutton, Ray Lippincott and Earl Jenkins.
