FREEMAN LOFTIS, 85

Services for Freeman Loftis, age 85 of Blair, who died February 28, 1992 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha were Monday, March 2 at the First Baptist Church in Blair.Rev. Noel McLaren and Rev. Gene Loftis officiated. Graveside services were held at the Blair Cemetery.

Freeman K. Loftis was born March 20, 1906 at Herman to George and Ruth Fletcher Loftis. He attended the New England School

. He married Eulalia Montgomery January 2, 1929 at Red Oak, Iowa.

He was engaged in farming until 1950. He then worked for the Uta Halee Girls School for one year and then worked for the Omaha Public Schools. He spent 18 years working there, nine of which he drove a school bus.

He was a 4-H Leader in Herman and Blair. He served as chairman of the 4-H Council in Washington County. He also was a founding member of the Good Sam Club. A lover of horses, he gave pony rides to children at school carnivals and other functions around the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Eulalia of Blair; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Lela of Blair; and Lyle and Beverly of San Bernardino, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Bill Ryder of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one brother, Floyd of Arlington.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
