Martha M. Lund, 90, of Blair, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were Monday, Sept. 14, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Interment at a later date will be at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.

Martha M. Wheaton was born Jan. 23, 1919, in New Cambira, Kan., to Louis and Agnes (Butchle) Wheaton.

She attended Brown and Mackie Business School in Salina, Kan.

On June 30, 1943, she married Walter R. Lund at Fort Story, Va.

The couple lived in Saline County, Kan., until moving to Fremont in 1953. She attended the former Cornusker School of Cosmetology in Fremont from 1959 to 1960, then owned and operated Lund Beauty Salon in Fremont from 1959 until 1989. She moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1989, and moved to Blair in 2004.

Mrs. Lund was a member of the Nebraska Cosmetologist Association and a former member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond Jr. and Linda Lund of Blair, and Robert and Wini Wu Lund of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Michael Sibilia of Omaha; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Phyllis Wheaton of Anthony, Kan., and Joseph and Pat Wheaton of McDade, Texas; brother-in-law, Norman Dokken of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Lucille Wheaton of Salina, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in April 2007; brother, Leo Wheaton; sisters, Anne Wheaton and Bertha Spohn; brothers-in-law, Wally Swantz, Clifford Lund and Art Spohn; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Dokken, Adeline Swantz and Dorothy Lund.

Memorials are suggested to Juvenile Diabetes research and Alzheimer's research.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
