After an illness of about four days Mrs. Jos. Sublet died of influenza at her home in north Blair at 11 o’clock Sunday evening. The funeral was held at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating. Mrs. Sublet was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Barger, of this city and was born in Harrison County, Ia., Feb. 18, 1881, being therefore past 37 years of age. She was married to Jos. Sublet in Iowa in 1896 and eight children were born to them, one dying in infancy. Beside the husband, and children she leaves her parents, three sisters and four brother, Mrs. Hugh Moore, of Herman, Mrs. Jonas Metzler, of Tekamah, Mrs. Chas. Wilderson, of Kennard, John, Thomas, Albert, and Chas. Barger, of this city. Mr. Sublet and the sorrowing family have the sympathy of many friends in their sudden bereavement.

Mrs. Joseph Sublet Dies of Spanish Influenza

Mrs. Joseph Sublet died at her home in Blair Monday, after an illness of four days of Spanish influenza.

Orlenia Barger was born Feb. 18, 1881, in Harrison County, Iowa, and came to Nebraska 14 years ago and took up her residence in Washington County. She was married to Joseph Sublet in Iowa in 1896. She was the mother of 8 children, 7 whom are now living. Her parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers also survive her. The sisters are, Mrs. Mary Moore, Herman; Mrs. Gertie Metzler, Tekamah; Mrs. Ellen Wilderson, Kennard; the brothers are John, Thomas, Albert and Charlie Barger, all of Blair. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. W. H. Underwood.

Note: Death date and name spelling of Loriena was taken from the Blair Cemetery records. She is buried in Blk 66 Lot 5 Sp 8. Her headstone has her first name Lorlena.
