HENDRICKSEN DIED AT GRAND ISLAND NOV. 2

Rasmus Hendricksen, an early day resident of Washington County, died at the Old Soldiers Home at Grand Island last Thursday, November 2. He had been a resident there for 28 years.

Mr. Henricksen was born March 20, 1872 in Jylland, Denmark and would have been 90 years of age next spring. He came to American as a youth at the age of 19 and settled in the vicinity of Craig, Nebraska. He took part in the Spanish American War and was mustered out on a medical discharge in 1899.

On March 20, 1901 he was married to Agnes Jorgensen and the couple took up farming in the Admah neighborhood west of Herman. This area continued to be their home for many years. Mrs. Hendricksen died in 1947. Three sons also preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Thielfoldt (Hazel) of Herman and Mrs. Mildred Enger of Blair. A son Leroy Henricksen lives in Blair.

Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at the Bendorf Funeral Home with the Rev. Geo. Pallesen of the First Lutheran Church conducting the services. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lyle Thielfoldt, Donald Thielfold, Alfred Paulsen, Neal Lang, Earl Stokes, and Ivan Christensen.

R. HENDRICKSEN DIES AT GRAND ISLAND

Rasmus Hendricksen, who lived for many years in the Craig and Herman vicinities, died November 2 at Grand Island. Mr. Hendricksen was born March 20, 1872, in Jylland, Denmark. He came to American when he was 19 and settled in the Craig vicinity. He took part in the Spanish American War and was mustered out on a medical discharge in 1899.
