Patrick J. Herman died Sept. 5, 2004, at his home in Blair after a long fight with cancer.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 8, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Patrick James Herman was born July 5, 1959, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, to Charles and Helen (Pauley) Herman. He attended Missouri Valley High school and graduated in 1977.

He was employed by the Omaha Public Power District until failing health forced his early retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Blair Fire Department and Rescue Squad from 1982-2001, holding many roles as an officer and serving as Rescue Squad Captain.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria; daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Justin Dannelly of Dakota City, Charissa and Alvin Brooks of Blair; daughter, Michaela Herman and friend, Daniel Goeser of Blair; son, Ryan Herman of Blair; two grandsons; parents, Charles and Helen Herman of Missouri Valley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Linda Herman of Omaha, Timothy and Cynthia Herman, Mark and Heather Herman and Marty and Janelle Herman, all of Missouri Valley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kelly and Roy Noren and Kristine and Russell Richt, all of Omaha, and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Herman.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
