The funeral for Beulah E. Ladd, 89, of Fremont, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.

She died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Beulah was born Sept. 10, 1917, in Hartwick, Iowa to Harry and Minerva (Sands) Noel. She grew up in Kennard, graduating from high school in Kennard. She then worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Blair.

She married Robert E. Ensminger on Oct. 19, 1939. He died on Nov. 11, 1944, in World War II. Later, on March 5, 1946, she married Renard Ladd, and they made their home in Blair. He died Jan. 7, 1974.

During her working years, she worked for the Crowell Home in Blair; The Redman Home in Omaha; Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair; and the Blair Hospital. In 1979, Beulah moved to Fremont.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (and husband, Fred) Schafer of Westminster, Colo.; and Kathleen Haswell of Fremont; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Beulah was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert E. Ensminger and Renard Ladd; by two sons, Ronald and Chuck Ladd; a daughter, Jackie Ladd Sheets; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; four brothers and a sister.

The Rev. Steve Holden of Salem Covenant Church in rural Oakland will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation will be one hour before service time Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
