Former Fontanelle resident Mary A. Hetrick, 87, of Fremont, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment will be at the Fontanelle Cemetery.

Mary Ann Timm was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Telbasta to Paul and Emma (Lambrecht) Sr. She grew up at Telbasta where she attended school.

On March 24, 1940, she married Lawrence F. Hetrick. The couple lived in Lafayette, Ind., for a short time, then returned to Nebraska and lived on a farm east of Fremont before moving to Telbasta for three years, then settling in Fontanelle.

Mrs. Hetrick was employed by the Campbell’s Soup Company in Fremont from 1954 until 1961, and then worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1962 until 1978. She also worked at the A&W Root Beer drive-in, Crowell Memorial Home in Blair, and for O.K. Brown Television at Arlington.

After her husband’s death in 1987, Mrs. Hetrick moved to Fremont in 1999. Mrs. Hetrick was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont, and was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. She was a member of a Washington County Extension Club; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 200 of Fremont; Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary; and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Jack Crawford and Bonnie and Dan Parish, all of Fremont, and Pat and Michael Byers of Kennard; 10 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Elaine Timm and August and Barbara Timm, all of Nickerson; two sisters and brother-in-law, Alice Clausen of Fremont and Lois and Dana Palmer of Hooper.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, and one great-grandchild.

Memorials are suggested to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.

Moser Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
