Scott A. Hiatt, 35, of Lincoln, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, in a motorcycle accident near Chadron.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 26, at Faith Bible Church with Pastor Tom Remple officiating. Interment was at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.

Scott A. Hiatt was born Nov. 9, 1966, in North Platte to Ronald L. and Norita J. (Olson) Hiatt. He lived in Omaha and Wahoo, and later moved to Alliance where he graduated from high school.

Following graduation, his family moved to Berthoud, Colo., while he attended college at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He graduated from UNL, in 1991.

On Aug. 1, 1992, he married Kerri Arp of Kennard. The couple had one daughter, Hadley, 22 months.

Mr. Hiatt was a vice president of ITI in Lincoln. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Masonic Lodge and the Sesostris Shrine in Lincoln.

His family members note that he lived life to the fullest. He loved his family, golfing, riding his motorcycle, hunting, and building anything.

He is survived by his wife, Kerri, and daughter, Hadley, both of Lincoln; parents, Ron and Rita Hiatt of Berthoud; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Christine Hiatt, also of Berthoud; sisters-in-law, Kaylene Franklin of Waterloo, and Koni and Les Shallberg+ of Fremont; brother-in-law, Kevin and Pam Arp of Kennard; mother-in-law, Sharon Arp of Fremont; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. Lloyd and Dorothy Olson, and Gilbert and Ida Hiatt, and father-in-law, Vernon Arp.

Memorials are suggested to his daughter’s educational trust fund.

Wyuka Funeral Home in Lincoln was in charge of arrangements.

Motorcyclist died in highway collision-Crawford~A Lincoln man was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and a van.

Scott Hiatt, 35, was westbound on U.S. Highway 20 Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with an eastbound van about five miles west of Fort Robinson State Park the Nebraska State Patrol said.

Hiatt was wearing a helmet in the 3:30 p.m. MDT accident, and the investigation was continuing, the patrol said.
