BARBARA “SUE” LAURITSEN, 51

Barbara “Sue” Lauritsen, 51, of Belleville, Kan., whose relatives live in the Blair area, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at her home.

Services were Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Memorial Chapel in Belleville. Rev. Floyd Goddard officiated. Burial was in the Belleville Cemetery.

Barbara “Sue” Rice was born Feb. 19, 1947, at Ada, Okla., to Allen Loyd and Mary Modell Lee Rice. She graduated from NCKAVTS in June 1995 with a Licensed Practical Nurse associate degree.

On Dec. 24, 1986, she married Brian J. Lauritsen, formerly of Blair, at Belleville.

She was a homemaker, helped her husband with bookkeeping and worked at the Telescope, Republic County Hospital, at Belleville Lutheran Home as a CAN, CMA and LPN and at Beverly Health and Rehab in Concordia as an LPN.

She is survived by her husband, Brian of Belleville; a daughter, Sara Schmidt of Bartlesville, Okla.; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Rice of Concordia, Kan.; two sisters, Darlene of Salina, Kan., and Sonya Cornelius of Belleville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Jacque Lauritsen of Blair; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Linda Lauritsen of Kennard; sister-in-law, Lucy Lauritsen of Blair; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Amy and Steve Gorsett of Blair and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Realene, and a brother, Charles.
