Gary E. Coglizer, 71, of Fort Calhoun died Friday, July 2, 2010, in Fort Calhoun.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Mr. Coglizer's wish was that his body be donated to science.

Gary E. Coglizer was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Omaha to Dietz and Mildred Coglizer.

He had lived in Omaha and Ralston, but had owned and operated the Rustic Inn in Fort Calhoun since 1982.

On Oct. 31, 1994, he married Corky Morris.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Todd Volwiler of Carroll; stepson, Craig Schumacher of Fort Calhoun; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Sherri and John Beister of Neola, Iowa; five grandchildren; sisters, Naomi Hawkins and Gail Schroeder, both of Omaha; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Corky, and his parents.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun American Legion Post No. 348 or the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue Department.
