Death Comes To Mrs. F. S. Simpson August Sixth

Well Known Blair Woman Lived Here Many Years

Death came to Mrs. F. S. Simpson Last Sunday, August 6th at the Methodist hospital in Omaha following a brief illness.

Deceased was born in Gibson City, Illinois, on January 29, 1867, and was thus past 72 years of age at her death. She was married to F. S. Simpson on January 1, 1889 and in 1903 they moved to Blair where they have since resided.

To Mr. and Mrs. Simpson three children were born, Clarence of Blair, Mrs. Goldie A. Dolan of Lincoln and Harvey of New Orleans, Louisiana. A granddaughter, Mrs. Warren George of Tekamah was reared by Mr. and Mrs. Simpson, also. These with the husband grieve deeply their great loss.

On last January 1st, a golden wedding anniversary was held at which all the children gathered. It wa a happy event and one which will be cherished in the memories of the children as long as they live.

Besides the immediate relatives she leaves a brother, William Smith and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Rowe of Blair and Mrs. Mary Gamble of Portland, Oregon and five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church and interment made in the Blair cemetery.

Blairite Since 1903 Dies In Omaha Following Short Illness

Ill only a short time, Mrs. Frank S. Simpson, 72, of 204 east South street, died Sunday at Methodist hospital in Omaha. Only a few realized the seriousness of her illness, and her death came as a shock to many of her friends and associates.

Mrs. Simpson and her husband had been Blair residents since 1903, and on New Year’s Day noted their golden wedding anniversary.

As Margaret Smith, Mrs. Simpson was born near Gibson City, Illinois, January 29, 1867, and was married to Mr. Simpson January 1, 1889. They came to Blair in 1903.

Mrs. Simpson had been a member of First Methodist church here during her entire residence in Blair.

Surviving her besides her husband are three children, Clarence Simpson of Blair, Mrs. Goldie A. Dolan of Lincoln and Harvey Simpson of Blair, and Luella, now Mrs. Warren George of Tekamah, whom the Simpsons raised. Other survivors include one brother, William Smith, of Fort Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Rowe of Blair and Mrs. Mary Gamble of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The body was brought to Blair to the Campbell mortuary. Funeral services were held at First Methodist church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating.
