MRS. MARIE L. LUNDT PASSES

Mrs. Marie Louisa Lundt of South street passed away last Friday, December 18th at the Blair hospital following a paralytic stroke from which she had suffered since Sunday, December 7th.

Mrs. Lundt was born and reared in Germany and came to this country with her husband, Gustav Lundt in 1887. Mr. Lundt passed away some years ago and since that time, she has continued her residence at the old home.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lundt: Mrs. Wilma Kellogg of North Platte being the eldest; and the boys, Gus, B.F. and Theodore, all three of whom reside in Blair.

Deceased was a lady of culture and refinement and those who knew her prized her friendship highly. Always kind and thoughtful and of more than ordinary intelligence, she made an ideal mother and will be sorely missed by her children who mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held last Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the home with Rev. Wm. Goede of Fontanelle, officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

GRANDMA LUNDT BURIED SUNDAY

DEATH FOLLOWS PARALYTIC STROKE EARLY IN DECEMBER

Mrs. Mary Lundt passed away at the Blair hospital last Thursday shortly after noon following a paralytic stroke she suffered about ten days before. As Mary L. Lehman, she was born in Kiel, Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, on August 13, 1862. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and received a good education in the public schools. For some time she was a private instructor of children of wealthy families in Germany. In 1897 she became acquainted with Gustave Lundt on his visit to Germany and in August of that year they were united in marriage in Kiel. Following their marriage they returned to Blair where she has since resided. To this union four children were born, all of whom survive her. Mr. Lundt passed away eight years ago.

“Grandma” Lundt, as she was better known to her many friends, was possessed of a very lovable personality and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was a true Christian, a homemaker and her passing will be keenly felt by a large circle of friends as well as by the members of her family. She had not enjoyed the best of health during the past few years but her burdens were lightened much by her son, Bernhard, who made his home with her.

Surviving her are her bereaved children: Gustave, Bernhard F., and Theodore Lundt, all of Blair; a daughter, Mrs. George Kellogg of North Platte; and a step-daughter, Mrs. John Sas of Pender, whom she reared. Six grandchildren also survive her.

Funeral services were conducted from the family home on west South street at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Wm. Goede, pastor of the Lutheran Church at Fontanelle, officiating, after which interment was in the Blair cemetery. An attendance of a large number of friends at the last rites was indicative of the high esteem in which Mrs. Lundt was held.
