Burial Rites for Mrs. Knott

Herman Woman Died on Coast Eight Days After Her 84th Birthday

A resident of Herman for more than 60 years, Mrs. Emily Jane Knott 84, died on October 8 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Flake of Tacoma, Wash. The body was returned to Herman for burial on Saturday; the Rev. A.W. Clarke of Arlington conducted rites at the Herman Methodist Church.

Born on October 1, 1860, at Huron, Ind., Mrs. Knott was married to Robert Bruce Knott on February 2, 1877. The couple moved to Herman in 1883, and settled there permanently.

Nine children, only three of whom survive, were born to the Knotts. Mr. Knott died in 1926. Survivors include three sons, Roy of Herman and Floyd and Irvin of Omaha, also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Knott held membership in the Methodist church and the American Legion auxiliary at Herman.

MRS. EMILY JANE KNOTT BURIED OCTOBER 14TH

Herman - Mrs. Emily Jane Knott died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Fiske, at Tacoma, Washington, and funeral services were held in Herman Saturday, and burial was in the Herman cemetery.

Mrs. Knott was 84 years of age, and she and her husband had lived in Herman with the exception of a few years. Mr. Knott and five children preceded Mrs. Knott in death. The four surviving children are: Mrs. Fiske of Tacoma, Washington; Floyd and Erwin of Omaha; and Roy of Herman.
