Native of Denmark, Was 72 Years Old At Time of Death

Danish-born Soren Gravgaard Miller, 72, died Friday evening at the farm home of his daughter, Mrs. Calle Hansen of Blair, following a six-month illness.

Rites were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Lutheran Church, the Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born near Thisted, Jutland, Denmark, on July 11, 1872, and came to America in 1904. He lived near Fremont for three years, then moved to Washington county.

Soren G. Miller, a resident of Washington County since 1907, passed away last Friday, October 13, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Calle Hansen, after an illness of more than six months.

Deceased was born in Denmark July 11, 1872, and came to Blair in 1907. He was a farmer all his life. On July 11th, 1892 he was married to Miss Marie Petersen who survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are the parents of five children, all living. They are: Chris Miller of Blair; Mrs. Calle Hansen of Blair; Mrs. Rosena Frahm of Herman; Mrs. Harvey Sydow of Lyons; and Niels with the armed forces now stationed in England; and sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, living in Los Angeles; and one in Milwaukee and two sisters and one brother in Denmark also survive, and with the wife and children, mourn his death.

Funeral services were held last Monday from the First Lutheran church with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
