Former County Woman Died Saturday

Margaret E. Blackman of Lincoln, and a native of Washington County, died at Lincoln last Saturday. She was 80 years old.

Mrs. Blackman is survived by a son, E. Jay Blackman and by a daughter, Mrs. E. S. Mathers, both of Lincoln. She is also survived by four sisters, including Mrs. F.W. Arndt, of Blair.

Mrs. Blackman was born at Fort Calhoun, the daughter of an early pioneer, W.H.Woods. She was raised in the Fort Calhoun area and was a graduate of Fort Calhoun High School. She taught school for a time and was married to Prof. E.E. Blackman who preceded her in death a number of years ago.

Mrs. Blackman took and active interest in patriotic organizations and was once president of the Daughter of Union Veterans.
