Beverly McBride Blackwell, 68

Beverly June McBride Blackwell, 68, of Sharpsburg, Georgia and formerly of Blair, died January 13, 1997 following a long illness. There will be a private family service at a later date.

Beverly June McBride Blackwell was born February 2, 1928 in Portville, NY to Leslie Arthur William and Edith Aileen Davidson McBride. She graduated from Niagara Falls, New York High School in 1944 and attended Alfred University and Niagara University.

She married Alexander Lindsie Blackwell of Ransomville, NY on June 5, 1948. Blair was one of the numerous places in the United States in which they lived.

She taught elementary school in Swormsville, NY. After moving to Blair, she was an active volunteer at Nebraska Methodist Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Alexander of Sharpsburg and a son, David Roy Blackwell of Raleigh, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Georgia was in charge of arrangements.
