PAULINE RUFER, 81

Pauline Rufer, 81, of Blair, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Memorial Community Hospital following a short illness. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Pauline Robinson was born March 20, 1929, in Tekamah, and was one of 18 children born to Merlin and Ethel (Smith) Robinson.

She lived in the Tekamah area her entire childhood and the majority of her adult years. She graduated from Tekamah High School in 1947. She was married to William Densmore from 1949 until his death in 1970. In 1982, she married LeRoy Rufer.

During her lifetime, she worked as a telephone operator and at Sharlo Mobile Home Factory before she retired. She and her daughter ran a daycare in their home for 15 years. This was the most enjoyable job she ever had.

Mrs. Rufer had been a resident of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for the past two years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Hawley of Nebraska City; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Marilyn Robinson of Omaha, Carl and Sharon Robinson of Blair; sisters and brother-in-law, Lois and Ken Lowe of Oklahoma City, Okla., Rachel Williams of Omaha, Joyce Gregory of Fremont and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a daughter, Vicky; brothers, Keith, David, Duane, Jerry, Tom, Merlin Jr. “Bub”; sisters, Wanda Welch, Jean Peterson, Janet Perry, Susan Martens and infant sister, Violet.
