George H. Hill, age 82, rural Craig resident for the past year, died March 19, 1989 at the Logan Valley Manor at Lyons, Nebraska.

George Hill was born on June 28, 1906 at Miller, South Dakota to Robert and Margaret (McGirr) Hill. He married Marie B. Coffin on September 7, 1946 at Miami, Florida.

He worked as a printer in California prior to his retirement. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Oakland.

Survivors include his wife, Marie B. Hill of Lakeside, California; two sons, Robert Hill of Mentor, Ohio and George Hill, Jr., of Manhattan Beach, California; four grandchildren; one brother, Harold Hill of Wessington, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 21, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Rev. Dr. Hal Smith officiating. A Cremation Committal will be held in California at a later date.
