Louise M. Lohr, 95, of Blair, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 13, at Good Shepherd Home. Interment was in the Little Sioux (Iowa) Cemetery.

Louise Mae Lohr was born March 10, 1906 to John and Gertir (Warren) Powell in Little Sioux, Iowa.

She taught school for several years before marrying Floyd Dunkle in 1926. Mr. Dunkle was killed in a farming accident in 1942.

In 1947, she married Herman Grothe, who died of leukemia in 1971.

She then married Bill Lohr in 1975, and he preceded her in death in 1975, due to a heart condition.

Mrs. Lohr enjoyed gardening, sewing, cake decorating, bowling, dancing, camping and, after retirement, she enjoyed traveling.

During her working years, she worked on the farm, teaching school, at a bomber plant during the war years, a laundry, Bemis Bag, and at Wilson Meat Packing plant. She worked at Wilson’s for 20 years before retiring.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Marilyn Dunkle of Kennard; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Marvin Golter of Pendleton, Ore.; six grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many beloved step-grandchildren.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
