ARTHUR LONG, 78
Services for Arthur F. Long, 78, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 1987, at the United Methodist Church with Dr. Howard Bailey officiating.
Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don Samler; Charles Hult; Delbert Powell; Dale Kruse; Warner Moss, and Tim Harr.
Long was born April 4, 1909 in Avoca, Iowa, to Fred B. and Bertha (Greive) Long.
During his youth, he lived in the Blair area. He moved to Omaha 50 years ago.
In 1932, he married Gretchen Mencke.
From 1945 until his death, he was president and owner of Ace Moving and Storage Company in Omaha, which was the agent for North American Van Lines for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Gretchen of Omaha; a son, Larry Long of Omaha; a daughter, Mellie Rae Long of Omaha; two granddaughters, Allison and Stephanie Long; a sister, Thelma Caldwell of Blair; and by two brothers, Roy Long of Omaha and Howard Long of Concho, Arizona.
