BETTY I. LONG, 81

Funeral services for Betty I. Long, 81 of Blair, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdaym Oct. 28, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Betty I. Long died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Don Young of Grand Island.

Betty I. Long was born Aug. 29, 1922 to Helen Stricklett and Herbert Henningsen. She was a graduate of Blair High School and lived her entire life in Blair.

In June 1940, she married J. B. Long.

Mrs. Long was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church; was active with golf and bridge club; served on the board of the American Cancer Society; and was a member of the Betty Club.

She was a loving mother figure to many. The couple raised Rebecca (Mrs. Don) Young of Grand Island; Patricia (Mrs. Gary) Gaver of Mooreheaven, Fla.; and Donna (Mrs. Lawrence) Tietz Jr. of Omaha, along with many nieces and nephews.

LONG - - Betty I., age 81 yrs. Betty passed away peacefully on October 25, 2003 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Don Young of Doniphan, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband J. B. Long; brother, Bill Henningsen; parents and many loved ones. She was born August 29, 1922 to Helen Stricklett and Herbert Henningsen. Betty lived her whole life in Blair, Nebraska. In June of 1940 she was united in marriage to J. B. Long. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church; active with golf, bridge club; served on the Cancer Board; and was a member of the Betty Club. Betty was a loving mother figure to many. Betty and J. B. Long raised Rebecca (Mrs. Don Young), Doniphan, NE; Patricia (Mrs. Gary Gaver), Moore Haven, FL; Donna (Mrs. Lawrence Tietz Jr.) Omaha, NE. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Octobeer 29, 2003 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Burial Blair Cemetery. VISITATION 9 am-8pm Tues.
