ARLINGTON NEWS - MRS. ELLA LONG DIED AT THE AGE OF 102 YEARS.

Mrs. Ella Long, 102, a former Arlington resident and one of the state’s oldest residents, died Tuesday night. Services were held Friday at the Bader Funeral Home in Fremont, with the Rev. Mrs. C. V. Powell officiating. Burial was at the Ridge Cemetery.

Born December 24, 1859 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Long would have been 103 on Christmas Eve. With her parents, she came to Arlington which was called Bell Creek at that time, in 1876. She and James Pierce Long were Married November 20, 1880 at Arlington. He preceded her in death in 1934. They were Arlington residents until 1912 when they moved to Fremont.

She was a member of the United States Daughters of 1812 and the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Long was preceded in death by a son, James A., in 1959.
