Robert E. “Barney” Hieb, age 43, of Tekamah, died suddenly on Saturday morning, February 11, 1989.

Barney was born on April 23, 1945 at Firestill, South Dakota to John and Hilda Hieb. He married Wanda Chudomelka on January 26, 1974, at Tekamah.

Barney was employed by Double-Circle Farm Supply in Tekamah for the past fourteen years. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blair.

Survivors include wife, Wanda of Tekamah; three children, Jim, Brian and Samantha (all at home); his mother, Hilda Hieb of Newcastle, Wyoming; eight brothers and four sisters; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of friends.

Barney was preceded in death by his father, John, and one sister, Nancy.

Funeral services were Tuesday, February 14, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Chapel in Tekamah with David Cox officiating. A Cremation Committal followed.
