Services for Lona Higgins, age 87 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa who died at Cedar Rapids November 12, 1991 will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 16 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Lona M. Van DeVenter was born on September 9, 1904 at Mound City, Missouri to A. T. and Mary Harrison Van DeVenter.

Lona resided in Blair until moving to Cedar Rapids in 1987.

She married Ivan Higgins on August 19, 1925 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1972.

She is survived by her children, Joy (Mrs. Bernard) Uchytil, Hiawatha, Iowa and Patrick Higgins, Colorado Springs, Colorado; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Van DeVenter, Denver, Colorado and Orville Van DeVenter, Oceanside, California; two sisters, Thelma Cushman, Cloverdale, California and Frances Lesnieski, , Lansing, Michigan; nephews and nieces, including Phyllis (Mrs. Ed) McMullen, Blair and Robert Rasmussen, Herman, Nebraska.
