Joseph A. Goebel, 53, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at his home in Herman.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Joseph Allen "Joe" Goebel was born April 17, 1957, in Lincoln to Raymond and Donna (DeLancey) Goebel. He attended Clinton Elementary, Lincoln High, Sacred Heart and Southeast Community College.

He lived in Lincoln for 26 years, in Omaha for 10 years, in Blair for 12 years and in Herman for the last five years. He worked in the maintenance department at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for 13 years, eight years as the supervisor of the department.

Mr. Goebel and his wife, Debra, were married for 28 years.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Blair. He loved to fish, camp and go boating.

He is survived by his wife, Debra, of Herman; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Mary, and Michael and Calissa all of Tekamah; eight grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Janet Brown and Thersia Goebel, both of Omaha, Rita Goebel of Lincoln, Janeece McNew of Lincoln, Martin Goebel and Frank Goebel, both of Lincoln, and Stephanie Schlehuber of Fort Calhoun.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane Matta.

Services 2 pm Tuesday, July 6th at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, Blair. Visitation will be Monday, July 5th beginning at 12pm with family receiving friends from 6-8pm at the Funeral Home. Memorials can be directed to the family.
