Services were Tuesday, May 26, at Memorial Methodist Church in Lyons, Nebraska for Treva Nelle Hightree, 82 of Lyons, who died suddenly May 22 at her home in Lyons. Rev. Jean B. Alnor and Rev. Bill E. Martin officiated. Burial was in the Lyons Cemetery.

Treva Nelle Hightree was born August 30, 1909 in Blair to Joe and Bertha Jane McManigal. She moved to Hamill, South Dakota in 1918 with her family. She graduated from Hamill, South Dakota High School in 1927. She then returned to Blair and worked at Crowell Memorial Home.

She married Frank M. Hightree September 1, 1931. She helped him with his well drilling business while raising their family in Blair. They moved to Lyons in May of 1942.

She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, the Lyons Woman’s Club, extension club, Happy Days Senior Citizen’s Center and United Methodist Women. She was also active in the organization of 4-H clubs in Lyons and served at 4-H club leader for 27 years.

She served as a Sunday School teacher and a Sunday School superintendent. She was a 50 year member of the United Methodist Church in Lyons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank and one brother, Gordon McManigal.

She is survived by daughters and their husbands, Evelyn and Loren Fraser, Columbus, Nebraska, Janet and Al Dean Hough of Murray, Kentucky and Elizabeth and William Baker, Bellingham, Washington; nine grandchildren, Mary Fraser Meints and her husband Ray, Jeffrey Fraser, M.D. of Bloomington, Illinois and his wife Anna; Rodney Fraser, Bryan Fraser and his wife Julie, Jennifer Fraser, all of Omaha; Brenda Hough Jones and her husband David of Indianapolis, Indiana and Rebecca Hough Jones and her husband, Jerry of Rolla, Missouri; Dee Baker and Amy Baker of Bellingham, Washington; seven great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Clyde0 McDonald of Blair, Keith McManigal of Waterloo, Jane (Mrs. James) Rolan of Des Moines, Iowa and Joseph McManigal of Blair and nieces and nephews.

Cynthia Svendsen was organist; Mike and Toni Lang were vocalists.

Casket bearers were Rodney Fraser, Bryan Fraser, Ray Meints, Howard McManigal, Dwight Long, Lyle Tippery, Charles Hightree and Don Schlichting.

Memorials may go to the United Methodist Women for Missions.

Piper Funeral Home of Lyons was in charge of arrangements.
