Agnes Hilgenkamp, 98, of Fremont, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Services were Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Mrs. Hilgenkamp was born July 8, 1899, to Gottlieb and Emma (Jacob) Hartung on the family farm near Fontanelle. She was baptized on July 30, 1899, and confirmed on May 4, 1913, both events taking place at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. On May 4, 1922, she married Evie H. Hilgenkamp at Arlington. They farmed north of Arlington, later farming her family's farm south of Fontanelle. In 1945, they moved into Fremont. She worked for several businesses in Fremont, including the Vienna Bakery, Kindler's Cafe and the Dodge County Hospital's cafeteria, before retiring.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Survivors are three daughters and son-in-law, Mrs. Jeanette Phillippe of Maxwell, Neb.; Betty and Harold Koser of Loysville, Penn.; and Mrs. Doris Reis of Fremont; three sons and daughters-in-law, Morris and Betty Hilgenkamp of Kearney, Neb.; Arnold and Jan Hilgenkamp of Plymouth, Minn., and Robert Hilgenkamp of Fremont; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Dorsey of Omaha and Lorraine (Mrs. Gordon) Spangler of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evie, in February 1969; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
