Edwin H. Hilgenkamp, 98, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at his home in Arlington.

Funeral services were April 27, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Visitation began Wednesday but will also be held one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Edwin H. Hilgenkamp was born Jan. 6, 1908, in Arlington to William and Ida (Ahlemeyer) Hilgenkamp. He lived in the Arlington area all of his life and was a retired dairy farmer.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and its Voter’s Assembly. He enjoyed church services and church activities, pastor’s visits, and his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.

On Oct. 30, 1934, he married Louise E. Knecht at Staplehurst. She preceded him in death in 1996.

Mr. Hilgenkamp is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Elaine Hilgenkamp and Milton and Kathy Hilgenkamp, all of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Verdell Stork of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Leslie and Laverne Hilgenkamp of Colon; sister, Ethelean Barth of Englewood, Colo.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Clarence; sister, Viola Kassebaum; granddaughter, Susan Buhr, and great-grandson, Tayten Buhr.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour Ministries.

The funeral for Edwin H. Hilgenkamp, 98, of Arlington, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

He died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at his home.

He was born Jan. 6, 1908, in Arlington to William and Ida (Ahlemeyer) Hilgenkamp. He lived in the Arlington area all his life and was a retired dairy farmer.

He married Louise E. Knecht on Oct. 30, 1934, in Staplehurst. She died Nov. 30. 1996.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Voter’s Assembly of the church.

Survivors include: two sons, Ronald (and wife, Elaine) Hilgenkamp and Milton (and wife, Kathy) Hilgenkamp, all of Arlington; a daughter, Deloris (and husband, Verdell) Stork of Arlington; a brother, Leslie (and wife, Laverne) Hilgenkamp of Colon; a sister, Ethelean Barth of Englewood, Colo.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, a granddaughter, and great-grandson.

The Rev. Rick Kanoy will officiate Thursday’s service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington.

Memorials have been established to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Lutheran Hour Ministries.
